About Us
Coach John
Coach John grew up on the east coast of South Florida and has been a swimmer since age 3. After graduating from the University of Florida in 1970 he spent 6 years in the US Air Force as a Pilot and then 36 years in commercial aviation. In 2013 Coach Tom Bradbury introduced his 17 month old grandson to the pool and it was an amazing experience. Coach Bradbury had spent over 60 years in teaching over 94,000 children-he is the undisputed preeminent swim teacher of children in the entire world. Coach John spent 3 seasons with Coach Bradbury learning the system and techniques that Coach Tom had fine tuned over the years from swim lessons.
Coach Bobby
Coach Bobby grew up in Alabama spending his summers on the Gulf Coast, where he developed his love of swimming. After completing graduate school at the University of Alabama, he entered the world of scientific research. Through his time as a researcher in pediatric neurosurgery at Cornell, and most recently as the project manager for the Cleft Lip and Palate Program at Emory University, he found a passion in working with, and helping, young children. After enrolling his own young sons in one of Coach John’s sessions, he became fascinated with John’s proven, time-tested approach. He thought, what a wonderful way to continue helping children by teaching them this important life skill. Subsequently, he was mentored and trained by Coach John - officially joining him at Triton Tykes in 2024.
Christine
Christine is the Business Manager/IT Manager for Triton Tykes. She grew up in the Atlanta area and attended Florida State University where she majored in Management Information Systems. She has been married to her husband for 23 years and has two daughters. She has departed from corporate America and has enjoyed honing her IT and management skills with Coach John and Coach Bobby.
Patrick Cunningham
Patrick Cunningham is Coach John’s grandson who lives in San Diego. This is his second year teaching children how to swim after learning from Coach John and his extensive experience with thousands of kids. He is currently a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. His passion for helping others has led him to enjoy working with young kids in the pool.
Coach Tom
Coach Tom Bradbury, a beloved swim instructor from Chicago, taught over 90,000 children to swim during his 50-year career in Southern California and the Caribbean. Coach John first met Coach Tom in 2013 when he taught John’s grandsons, and he was amazed by what was accomplished in just seven days. After training under him for three seasons, Coach John began teaching Tom’s proven, unofficially termed “Bradbury Method”, which continues to help children nationwide become safe and confident swimmers. Coach John has trained 5 other teachers who work in Atlanta, Honolulu, Savannah, Seattle and New Jersey. Coach Tom’s legacy lives on through every instructor and child touched by his method.
