Coach John grew up on the east coast of South Florida and has been a swimmer since age 3. After graduating from the University of Florida in 1970 he spent 6 years in the US Air Force as a Pilot and then 36 years in commercial aviation. In 2013 Coach Tom Bradbury introduced his 17 month old grandson to the pool and it was an amazing experience. Coach Bradbury had spent over 60 years in teaching over 94,000 children-he is the undisputed preeminent swim teacher of children in the entire world. Coach John spent 3 seasons with Coach Bradbury learning the system and techniques that Coach Tom had fine tuned over the years from swim lessons.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Ginnie Talley spent her summers at the Piedmont Driving Club where she discovered her love for swimming. After graduating from Westminster, she attended Winthrop University where she played collegiate Volleyball. Ginnie has two daughters, Emma (7) and Maggie(5). Ginnie first met Coach John when she enrolled Emma in one of the sessions in 2019. She was incredibly impressed with the program and asked if Coach John would consider training her. Ginnie has spent every day in the pool with Coach John since 2020. She has trained hundreds of children! She is very excited to continue teaching young children the foundational skills of swimming and provide a perfect foundation for the love of water!
